VOLLEYBALL DISTRICT

O’HARA WINS DISTRICT AND PLACES FIVE ON ALL-DISTRICT TEAM The volleyball team from Archbishop O’Hara High School won the Class 3 District 14 championship game on October 29th, defeating Pembroke Hill 25-13 & 25-12, played at Center High School. Powered by seven kills by Tori Hurtt, six by Michela Boehm, and four by Janelle Jordan, the Lady Celtics easily dominated on the offense. On defense, Hurtt and Boehm combined for eleven stuffs. Three players from the team were named to the First Team All-Distict and two were named to the Second Team. The First Team selectees were Tori Hurtt, Michela Boehm, and setter Lindsey Hanaway. Janelle Jordan and Katie Huber made the Second Team. In the District semi-final games O’Hara beat East and Pembroke Hill beat Lincoln Prep with all of the games having identical scores of 25-12. The District Championship moved O’Hara to the Sectionals on Saturday in games played at Excelsior Springs.
