Max Is First Again

Max Storms from Archbishop O’Hara High School, defending Class 2 State Champion in Cross Country, won the top place in the Helias Invitational at Binder Park in Jefferson City on Saturday, October 11th. His time was 16:14 for the 5000 meter race. With twelve schools represented, the O’Hara team came in fourth place with Helias in first followed by Mexico and Smith-Cotton. Jefferson City Hickman was fifth. The other four team members of the Celtic squad with their places were Andy Meyer (19:08 in 17th place), Jerry Rellihan (20:16 in 32nd place), Trevor Gudde (21:18 in 42nd place), and Kyle Van Hecke (22:45 in 56th place). Coach Mike Martin said, "Max Storms set a new course record at the Helias meet on Saturday in winning in 16:14. Andy Meyer also medaled by placing 17th and McKenzie Shelton placed 4th in the JV race and earned a medal. "
