J V FOOTBALL GAME:
JV FOOTBALL: O’Hara 32 Lincoln 24
On October 20th, The O’Hara Junior Varsity team rallied from a 24-10 deficit to defeat Lincoln Prep by scoring 22 unanswered points and pull out a 32-24 victory.
The first ten points were O’Hara’s with Josh Stazen passing to Brett Coatney for a 37 yard TD. Stazen ran for a two point conversion.
With Lincoln deep in their own territory, a bad snap into the endzone appeared to be recovered by Ronnie Jackson for a TD, but it was ruled a two-point safety.
The next three touchdowns were scored by Lincoln and in three different ways. They came from a 35 yard pass play and a returned punt in the second quarter, and a returned kick-off at the start of the second half.
Then O’Hara came within eight points by way of a 4 yard pass to DJ Griffin by Josh Stazen along with a two-point conversion on a run by Rayshaun McDonald.
It wasn’t until the fourth quarter that the Celtics tied up the score at 24-24. Dontea Obie plunged for a one-yard score but Stazen’s pass for a two-point conversion failed.
DJ Griffin set up the deciding touchdown with an interception. A 26 yard run by Rayshaun McDonald advanced the ball to the one yard line from which Josh Stazen snuck it in. Stazen passed to Rayshaun McDonald for the extra points and the defense took over from that point on.
