On Thursday October 2, the Archbishop O'Hara High School Celtics football team won their Homecoming game with the Saint Pius X Warriors by a score of 34-7.
Neither team scored until the second quarter when Austin Evans registered two touchdowns on a 17 yard run and a 30 yard pass reception from Michael Briggs. Approaching halftime, Gerard Harker caught a pass from Briggs and went 75 yards to bring the score to 19-0.
Eight more points for the Celtics came from a 1 yard plunge by Gerard Harker and a two-point conversion by quarterback Michael Briggs.
The Warriors finally scored on a 4 yard run by Gabe Akalugwu but was answered by a TD by Jordan Supplee on a 28 yard pass.
Zach Drake kicked two of the Celtics' extra points and Chris Rupp had the Warrior's lone extra point.
On defense, both D. J. Jordan and Jaylon Moseley had quarterback sacks.
O'Hara is among the six Missouri 3A teams with records of 7-0. The other five are California, Reeds Spring, Park Hill Central, Maryville, and Hogan.
The Celtics are the only undefeated team in the West Central Conference at this time and will play the Center Yellowjackets on Friday.
