In the third quarter, the Cardinals got the lead for the first time on a pair of free throws by Joe Muehlberger. They kept ahead through most of the quarter, at one time by as much as seven points when the score was 37-30. Before the period was over however the Celtics managed a one point advantage thanks to six tallies by Kyle Baker and a basket by Nick Naudet.
Both teams pulled slightly ahead until C.J. Naudet tied up the game at 39-39 and a basket by Desmond McDaniel put O'Hara on top, and the home team never trailed again.
Only two Celtics reached double figures: Kyle Baker with 16 and Nick Naudet with 13.
In the girls' game prior to the boys' contest, the two squads were running neck-and-neck into the fourth quarter.
