Results of JV & Freshman Football vs Oak Grove

On Labor Day, the O'Hara JV and freshman football teams met with Oak Grove at Paul Monteil Stadium. The O'Hara Celtics JV team won 8-6 but the freshman team suffered a 40-16 defeat _____ In the JV contest the deciding two points came from a third quarter bad snap out of the endzone for a safety. _____ The Celtics scored first near the end of the first quarter but failed to run in the two-point conversion. Andre Jordan caught a 27 yard pass from Ryan McD0well for the TD. _____ The Oak Grove Panthers got their six-pointer on a one yard run midway through the second quarter and also failed to make the two-point extra points. _____ The safety was the only scoring in the second half although at one time the Panthers had first and ten on the O'Hara 12 yard line and did not get any closer. _____ _____ _____ In the freshman game, O'Hara got a third quarter TD on a 6 yard pass play from Cardell Miller to Ben Janet and a 4 yard sweep by Derreck Davis within the final minute of playing time. _____ Extra points for the two TD's were by Derreck Davis and Cardell Miller. _____ Oak Grove's six TD's were on two runs of 5 yards each, a 16 yard run, and a 19 yard run. They also scored on two 20 yard pass plays.
