TALENT SHOW FOR DIRE DAWA
Alicia Bertrand singing "Anyway" won the Overall Best Award at the O'Hara Talent Show on April 5th competing among twelve performances.
Of the four other awards given, Kaitlyn Fennesy was judged the Best among the freshmen/sophomore acts for her dance to "That's How You Jazz."
Nicole Krawczyk teamed with Ashley Clark in a song & guitar rendition of "Hallelujah" for the Best junior/senior act.
The Best Solo Performance Award went to Tonia Kiesov for her song"Thunder."
Finally winning the Best Group Performance was an entertaining dance mix by JeVon Lyle, Raphael Spencer, Keenan Wilkins, and Emanual Moore.
Among the remaining seven acts were songs entitled "Through Glass" by Rocky Chael, "Love Song" by Abbey Kenyon, "Need You Bad" by Lelani Riley, and "Walking on Water," an orginal song composed by Amy Lyon.
Josh Snow played Beethoven's Sonata in F major, Op. 10 no. 2 on the piano.
Johanna Kelly gave a dramatic interpretation entitled "The Lovely Bones" and Halea Coulter danced to the tune of "Paralyzer."
Student co-ordinators of the event were Lyndsay Hudson, Alyssa Kerfeld, and Kayle Henderson.
The proceeds for the talent show went to the mission fund for a school in Ethiopia.
