BASEBALL NO HITTER ON APRIL 7TH

Cullon Rowland pitched no-hit ball for four innings and Aaron Stubblefield pitched the fifth without yeilding a hit as the O'Hara Celtics put away the Center Yellowjackets 10-0 on April 7th. Rowland struck out all but four of the batters he faced and Stubblefield struck out two in his inning. The Yellowjackets had only two baserunners, one on a walk, and left only one baserunner by virtue of a pickoff play in the last inning. The Celtics batted around at the start of the game, scoring four runs before the Yellowjackets came to bat. Three more runs were added to the Celtic score in the second inning with Jake Slocum getting O'Hara's only hit. The Celtics had five walks in the inning, one of which forced in a run. O'Hara's tenth run scored by Larry Liggett resulted from a dropped popup, a single by Aaron Stubblefield, and a sacrifice fly by Aaron Mitchell. The mercy rule limited the game to only five innings. Starter Rowland faced thirteen batters, one more than the minimum, allowing only one to reach base on a walk. Aaron Stubblefield contributed at the plate with two hits, two runs scored and two RBI. Leadoff batter Vince Saviano reached base his first three times at the plate, scoring on each occasion. Cullon Rowland also helped his cause at the plate with three RBI's. The win put O'Hara to 3-1-1 for the season with two of the victories within the West Central Conference.
