Football Win O'Hara 48 Central KC 6

The undefeated Archbishop O'Hara High School Celtics won 48-6 on September 19 in a non-Conference game with the Central Blue Eagles. The win brought O'Hara's record to 5-0.

With two touchdowns in the first quarter, the Celtics jumped to a 14-0 advantage. They were on short runs by Michael Rowe and Gerard Harker.

By halftime, O'Hara built up a lead of 41 points so the second half was played with a running clock.

Zach Drake scored on two pass plays from Michael Briggs, one for 11 yards and one just before the half. The other two TD's were on a run by sophomore Jaylon Mosley and an an electrifying 51 yard pass caught by Jordan Supplee.

The home team added 7 points in the third quarter on a run by sophomore Peyton Jones and the Blue Eagles got on the scoreboard with 6 points in the last quarter of the game on a run by Cornelius Hampton.

Prior to the evening's contest, the Kansas City Star ranked the O'Hara team 4th among the area small schools. The top three squads were Miege, Kearney, and Piper. Center was named to the 5th spot.
