The Archbishop O'Hara High School Celtics football team won their fourth game of the season by beating the Nevada Tigers 42-7. The Celtics are 2-0 in the West Central Conference.
In the first half, Brock Hughes scored O'Hara's first two touchdowns on runs of 4 and 9 yards. Michael Briggs added another on a quarterback sneak.
In the third quarter, Zach Drake had a touchdown on a pass from Michael Briggs covering 24 yards. This was followed by the Tigers' only TD of the game, an 11 yard run by Chaden Brandt.
Two touchdowns, each for 30 yards, were picked up by the Celtics with a pass reception by Zach Drake and by a run by Gerard Harker.
Zack Drake hauled in a long 28 yard pass in the end zone for O'Hara's final tally, and the game continued with a running clock.
Going into the evening's contest, the Celtics were ranked 6th in MSHSAA Class 3 behind Blair Oaks, Raytown South, Willard, Miller Academy, and Blue Springs South. O'Hara was ranked just ahead of West Plains, Pattonville, Smithville, and Stafford. The only two teams that were not undefeated were Raytown South and Smithville. The rankings may be changing however inasmuch as Blair Oaks lost in their fourth game of the year.
Next game for the Celtics is with KC Central at O'Hara.
