Hogan Defeats O’Hara 41-6 With Huge Third Quarter
The Hogan Rams scored 23 points in the third quarter of their Saturday afternoon football game with the O’Hara Celtics and won 41-6 on September 21st.
The first half saw one touchdown in each quarter by the Rams. A 16 yard TD run by Chriselle Lang and a 28 yard score by Edward Collins. The O’Hara defense stopped both two-point conversion attempts.
The first touchdown of the third quarter was a pass play from Isaih Baylis to Kareem Sanders for 39 yards, and Chriselle Lang ran for a two-point conversion.
After Brock Hughes ran for a 27 yard gain, the Celtics fumbled, and Hogan was on its way to a second TD in the quarter, a 9 yard run by Ke’Waun Riley, and quarterback Isaih Baylis tagged on two more extra points on a run.
Before the quarter ended, Ke’Waun Riley ran for a 5 yarder and also kicked the extra point.
With the score at 35-0, the game continued with a running clock.
In the fourth quarter, Horace McCallester intercepted a Michael Briggs’ pass and returned to ball to the end zone for the Rams’ 41st point. The attempt to run for the extra points failed.
Later from nearly 80 yards away, Gerard Harker outraced three Ram defenders for O’Hara’s lone touchdown for the day, and Zach Drake kicked the extra point putting a halt to the running clock.
