O'HARA 42 KNOB NOSTER 14

Celtics score 28 points in the Second Quarter enroute to a 42-14 win

After a routine first quarter in which O’Hara pulled ahead with a 14 yard touchdown run by Gerard Harker, the Celtics scored four second quarter TD’s to beat the Knob Noster Panthers 42-14 on September 13th.

The Celtics went ahead by a score of 14-0 in the second period on a 35 yard pass play from Michael Briggs to Austin Evans.

Then the visitors scored their first half touchdown on a 72 yard run down the right sideline by Darryl Davis with Kyle Thomas adding the extra point.

Midway in the quarter, Michael Briggs passed to Zach Drake for an 8 yard touchdown.

With just over a minute remaining in the first half, O’Hara added to their lead with a 30 yard pass play from Michael Briggs to Austin Evans.

But the Celtics got the ball right back with a successful on-side kick. In the short time remaining, Brock Hughes ran for 18 yards, Michael Briggs passed to Jordan Supplee for 15 yards, and then passed to Michael Rowe for another 15 yards and the TD.

Well into the third quarter, Brock Hughes scored from four yards out and the two teams played with a running clock until the Panthers finally reached the end zone on a 6 yard touchdown by Michael Williams.

Zach Drake kicked all of O’Hara’s extra points. In the Celtics' first three games of the season they scored at least 35 points in every game.
