In preparation for their American Family Insurance Holiday Basketball Classic game scheduled for 10:30 AM on December 26th with 3rd seeded Fort Osage at William Jewel, the Archbishop O'Hara High School team won easily on December 20th 74-54 in their game with Metro Academy.
Jumping to an early lead, the speedy Celtics pulled ahead of the Mavericks to take a 21-9 first quarter advantage and maintained the lead throughout the rest of the contest.
The Celtics had nine three-point goals by a variety of players in the shooting spree. Although O'Hara utilized its entire bench, Isaac Uche led the scoring attack with 14 points with Desmond McDaniel and John Burton contributing 12 and 10 points.
Only five Mavericks scored points with Collin Gerringer leading the way with 21, followed by Alex Goetz with 11 and Logan Hardage with 10.
Most games scheduled for this date were cancelled because of the snow storm that hit the city. Eventually Harrisonville won the Tourney Championship with a 38-30 win over Drexel.
