BACCALAUREATE ON MAY 15TH

On the traditional feast day of Saint John Baptist De La Salle, Patron of all Teachers, the Archbishop O'Hara High School Baccalaureate Mass took place at Saint John Francis Regis Church at a 6 PM ceremony. Reverend Thomas J. Holder, Pastor of the church and an O'Hara alumnus, was the Presider at the liturgy. He addressed the seniors and their parents & friends with the theme of Act Justly, Love Tenderly, and Walk Humbly as he focused in on the stress that comes with coping with senior projects, homeworks, and college anticipation. Two awards were presented at the ceremony. The Tyler Jones Scholarship which has been annually announced for the past eleven years was won by Alicia Bertrand, and the annual Saint Ls Salle Award was given to Joseph Pepple. Thirteen senior projects were singled out for special recognition. Four were given SUPERIOR rating accomplished by Allison Seiler, Chance Norton, Kimberly Jones, and Alicia Bertrand. Nine had EXCELLENT ratings by Megan Billings, Jong-Gu Chae, Lindsey Davis, Elizabeth Ford, Elisabeth Lowe, Rebecca McInerny, Madeline Rembold, Maximilian Storms, and Lauren Twyman. The Salutaorian of the class, Kim Jones, made her presentation on the past four years of the class progress. The valedictorian, Max Storms, was introduced and his speech is a part of Sunday's graduation ceremony.
