Saint Mary's Fall Classic

O'Hara Runner Wins For Seventh Time Max Storms, a junior cross country runner from Archbishop O'Hara High School, won his seventh First Place race for the 2007 season at the Saint Mary's Fall Classic in preparation for the District and State races coming up on October 27th and November 3rd. Max's previous Firsts were attained at the first Saint Mary's Invitational, the Invitionals at Oak Grove, Platte County, Smithville, and Saint Paul, and finally at the West Central Conference Invitational. He finished second at the Helias Invitational and sixth at the prestigious Kansas City Metro Invitational. At the first mile marker, Max was clocked at 5:24 and he had a time of 11:20 at the second mile. His total time in this win was 17:11. At Saint Mary's on October 20, his team came in second to Saint Mary's, seven team points behind Saint Mary's who took first place. Medals were awarded to the top 20 finishers and O'Hara did very well with Matt Bader taking the 4th place medal and Steven Weber the 7th place medal. Anthony Kinnard, Graham Grier, Trevor Gudde, and Andy Meyer also were medal winners. The girls varsity had six medal winners with their team also coming in second overall. They were Stevie Katzer, Aliyah Jones, Andrea Backstrom, Mackenzie Shelton, Amelia Ernstmann, Chelea Rose, and Kristina Snyder. Other teams involved in the races for the day were Odessa, Lone Jack, and Holden.
