Celtic Girls Win Home Invitational Meet

The annual O'Hara Invitational Track Meet was held on Wednesday, April 9th with the Lady Celtics winning first place and the O'Hara boys coming in second. Led by Cameron Randle who took home four gold medals, the O'Hara girls had 125 team points to outlast Saint Pius with 115 points. Max Storms and Bryce Dennis each won two gold medals to help the boys' squad take second place to Saint Pius. O'Hara had 130 team points to Saint Pius' 143 points. Other schools participating in the Meet were Center, Saint Mary's, Notre Dame de Sion, Barstow, Saint Teresa's, and University Academy. In the girls division, Cameron Randle ran the 100 meter dash in 14.22 and did the 200 meters in 29.84 for two individual first places. She also ran in the 400 meter relay (57.16) and the 800 meter relay (1:59.46) for her other two golds. Others contributing legs to the two relay victories were Emily DeMarea, Janell Jordan, Breanna Ranburg, Lindsey Hill, and Anna German. Hailey Houser won the high jump at 4' 8". In the boys division, in the 800 meter run Max Storms finished first with a time of 2:00.41 and the 1600 meter run at 4:50.16. Bryce Dennis took the shot put with a throw of 43' 4" and the discus with a toss of 146' 1". Terrell Johnson was the gold medalist in the 400 meter run timing out at 56.16. Adding to the team scores were second places by Emily DeMarea in both the 100 meter hurdles and the 300 meter hurdles. Stevie Katzer in the 1600 meter run, Paulina Pengelley in the shot put, and Rachel Gudde were also Silver medals. Joe Pepple came in second in the 300 meter hurdles, Anthony Kinnard was second in the lengthy 3200 meter run, and the O'Hara relay teams in the 3200 meter relay and the 800 meter relay were runners-up.
