HOW O'HARA BASKETBALL PLAYERS EXCELLED IN MO-KAN GAME

Scoring 90 points was not quite enough for the Missouri team to win the All-Star Challenge MO-KAN game on April 10th as the Kansas Stars won by three. _____ Except for the second quarter when the Kansas Stars outdid their opponents 22-19, the two squads matched points quarter by quarter. _____ Of the four Missouri players that reached double figures, Alex Smith from Archbishop O'Hara High School scored 11 points. _____ She was joined by Tanchelle Hollingsworth from Raytown South who had 20, Kassidy Ritchel from Truman with 13, and C. L. Wesemann from Pleasant Hill with 11. _____ Two of Smith's baskets were three-point shots. _____ These, shot in succession, came at an opportune time when the Missouri All-Stars were down by 57-51 in the third quarter thus tying up the score at 57-57_____ O'Hara's Hailey Houser, a member of the 4-A Missouri All-State First Team, had 7 points in the contest. _____ In the third quarter, it was one of her baskets that gave the Missouri team their only lead within the third quarter at 62-61. _____ In the fourth quarter, Alex Smith came through with a layup that provided the Missouri players with their only lead in that quarter 85-84 with two and a half minutes left in the game.
