Football OHARA 38 CLINTON 14
Behind the passing of T. J. White , the running of Raphael Spencer, and a strong senior-dominated line, the Archbishop O'Hara High School Celtics built up a 38-0 lead in three quarters over the Clinton Cardinals along the way to a 38-14 West Central Conference victory.
T. J. White who already has a number of school passing records completed 7 passes for 150 yards and two touchdowns.
Spencer ran for 128 yards accounting for three touchdowns with runs of 48, 27, and 9 yards.
T. J. White also ran in O'Hara's third TD of the first quarter from 20 yards out.
Recipients of the touchdown passes were Joe Melchior for 10 yards and an exciting 70 yard play by Aaron Stubblefield.
Extra points for the Celtics were hard to come by however as the only successful points were a two point pass play to Joe Melchoir.
Clinton didn't get onto the scoreboard until the final quarter on runs of 3 and 14 yards by Trenton Perry and Hunter Hayes. Hayes also scored a two-point conversion on a run.
O'Hara had 386 total yards to Clinton's 201 yards. In addition to Spencer's nine carries the Celtics' had gains by Terrell Johnson, Brett Coatney, Gabe Spencer and Chuck Preston.
The defense was led by Jimmy Clark, Louis Golden, Keon Young, Jorge Belcher, and Chuck Preston.
Next up for the Celtics is an away game at Oak Grove on Friday.

Girls Tennis: O'Hara 5, Clinton 4
On August 27th, the Celtics edged the Cardinals 5-4 with Anna German, Brianna Rainey, Caitlin White, and Alex Moran winning their singles matches. German and Rainey combined for a doubles victory also. --------------------Junior varsity singles winners were Sara Downs, Erin Scott, Hannah Sabbagh, and Lindsey Routledge.

2009 JAMBOREE
O'Hara won in all three football competitions at the 2009 jamboree held at Ruskin Field on August 21st. The University Academy Griffins were shut out 18-0, the Hickman Mills Cougars fell 24-18, and the Pleasant Hill Roosters were beaten 12-6. --------------------------------- The three Celtic TD's against the Griffins were a 2 yard rush by Raphael Spencer, an 8 yard run by T. J. White, and a pass play from T. J. White to Louis Golden. ---------------------------------- Raphael Spencer scored on O'Hara's first play against the Cougars on a 40 yard run. Immediately following this exciting dash, T. J. White competed a 40 yard pass to Aaron Stubblefield for O'Hara's second TD. Four plays later, T. J. White completed a 35 yard TD pass to Joe Melchoir. The fourth time the Celtics crossed the goal line, Raphael Spencer ran for a 10 yarder. ----------------------------- The two touchdowns that defeated Pleasant Hill were a 30 yard pass play to Louis Golden by T. J. White, and another 40 yard run by Raphael Spencer.

NEW PRINCIPAL AT O'HARA
Dr James Redd was named Archbishop O'Hara's seventh principal in the summer of 2009. He had previously spent seven years at William Jewell College as Athletic Director. His Lasallian background includes attending Christian Brothers Military High School in Saint Louis, graduating in 1961. He lettered in football, basketball, and baseball. Last February he was inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Honor.
