Lasallian educational institutions are educational institutions affiliated with the De La Salle Brothers, a Roman Catholic religious teaching order founded by French Priest Saint Jean-Baptiste de La Salle, who was canonized in 1900 and proclaimed by the Vatican in 1950 as patron saint of all teachers. In regard to their educational activities the Brothers have since 1680 also called themselves "Brothers of the Christian Schools", associated with the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools; they are often referred to by themselves and others by the shorter term "Christian Brothers", a name also applied to the unrelated Congregation of Christian Brothers or Irish Christian Brothers, also providers of education, which commonly causes confusion.
The De La Salle Brothers teach over 900,000 students in 82 countries.
Lasallian educational institutions come to prayer with:
"Let us remember that we are in the holy presence of God".
"I will continue O my God to do all my actions for love of you".
They close prayer with the response:
Saint John Baptist de La Salle,
Pray for us.

Lasallian Christian Brothers Mission Prayer
Lord, we believe that Your work is our work and we are a vital part of it.
You have given us the gift of spreading Your word to all but especially the young and the poor. It is a pilgrimage open and receptive to different creeds and cultures of the world.
Challenges and difficulties may confront us just as during our Founder’s time. We ask You to believe in us, challenge us, and send us.
We, regardless of our age, are filled with hope and joy for the mission and we rejoice as the mission expands. We celebrate new educational initiatives and ministries reaching out to the poor.
We are witnesses to Your great love since the time of our charismatic founder. Great things are still possible.
We thank You for having called and sent us to live the promise of vitality, to live our vision, our passion, and our future, for the mission You have entrusted to us.
