Five Celtics Make All-State Soccer Team
Although the announcement came relativley late after the completion of their 19-4 soccer season, the Archbishop O'Hara High School soccer team landed five athletes on the Class 1 All State Teams.
In the process of winning Third Place in State, much of the scoring was acomplished by forwards Sydney White and Bridget Wages, both seniors selected to the First Team, and sophomore midfielder Hayley White who was named to the Second Team. The only game in which the Celtics were shutout was the 3-0 State Semifinal game.
The Celtics were outstanding on defense as well as the team shutout their opponents ten times. Lucia Crosetti who made the All State First Team and Lindsay Beachner who made the All State Second Team did their job well making junior goalie Ciru Franklin look really good. Two of O'Hara's four losses went into overtime before their opponents could claim the wins.
