He took first place in the 3200 meters and second place in the 1600 meters.
Both races turned out to be a two-runner competition with only Max Storms from O'Hara and Maksim Korlev from Harrisonville well ahead of the rest of the field.
At 9:38.17, Storms outdid Korlev in the longer race. Korlev's time was 9:45.32 with the bronze medal going to a Clinton runner whose time was a distant 9:52.72.
Settling for the silver medal at 1600 meters, Max had a time of 4:20.97, just a hair short of Korlev's 4:20.5! The bronze medalist from Saint Pius X was in at a distant 4:33.93.
Saturday's Sectionals were held at Kearney High School.
